Humming, will not spin
Same jam symptom as any brand. Moen ships a hex wrench with each unit — if you still have it, try it. If not, we carry the tool and can free the unit in a few minutes.
Leak from the motor housing (bottom)
Non-repairable on Moen — same as every brand. If it's leaking from the motor body, the unit needs replacement. We'll confirm the leak source before recommending it.
Won't turn on at all
Check the reset button on the bottom first. If reset doesn't restore power, we meter the switch, cord, and motor to isolate the failure — often it's a wall switch, not the disposal.
Slow drain after running
Usually a partial clog in the P-trap or the branch drain, especially on remodels where the disposal was upsized without upsizing the drain. We diagnose whether the fix is the disposal or the plumbing.
Dishwasher backing up into the sink
The dishwasher knock-out plug in the disposal inlet was not removed at installation — extremely common. Two-minute fix if we catch it early; expensive later if the dishwasher pump fails.

What's Different About Moen In Los Angeles
